ไทย ได้รับเลือกเป็นเจ้าภาพ AFC U23 Championship 2024 รอบคัดเลือก จับสลาก 25 พ.ค.นี้ สมาพันธ์ฟุตบอลแห่งเอเชีย หรือ เอเอฟซี ยืนยันเลือก ประเทศไทย เป็นหนึ่งในเจ้าภาพจัดการแข่งขันฟุตบอลชิงแชมป์เอเชีย รุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 23 ปี รอบคัดเลือก การแข่งขันรอบคัดเลือก จะมีการแบ่งออกเป็นทั้งหมด 11 กลุ่ม และได้เลือกเจ้าภาพทั้งหมด 11 ประเทศ ซึ่งนอกจากประเทศไทยแล้ว จะมี บาห์เรน, จีน, อินโดนีเซีย, จอร์แดน, เกาหลีใต้, คูเวต, ซาอุดีอาระเบีย, ทาจิกิสถาน, อุซเบกิสถาน และ เวียดนาม ที่ได้รับเลือกเป็นเจ้าภาพในรอบนี้ ฟุตบอลชิงแชมป์เอเชีย 2024 รุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 23 ปี รอบคัดเลือก จะมีการจับสลากแบ่งสายวันที่ 25 พฤษภาคม 2566 โดยแบ่งเป็น 11 กลุ่ม คัดทีมแชมป์กลุ่ม 11 ทีม และอันดับ 2 ที่ดีที่สุด 4 ทีม ไปรวมกับ “เจ้าภาพ” กาตาร์ เป็น 16 ทีม แข่งขันรอบสุดท้าย สำหรับการแข่งขันรอบคัดเลือกนั้น จะมีขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 4-12 กันยายนนี้ ซึ่งตรงกับช่วง ฟีฟ่า เดย์ เดือนกันยายน 2566 ขณะเดียวกันรอบสุดท้ายนั้น จะแข่งที่ประเทศกาตาร์ ในเดือนเมษายน 2567 เพื่อหาตัวแทนทวีปเอเชียไปแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิก 2024 ที่ปารีส ประเทศฝรั่งเศส ต่อไป.
