Kristina Ozturk is an extraordinary mother since she raises no less than 20 babies with her husband and a whole team of nannies. She nurtures the dream of having 100 children with her millionaire husband of 57 years.
As relayed by our colleagues from the British site The Sun, the daily life of this family is eventful since they are the parents of 20 children. To have this offspring, they had to pay the equivalent of 160,000 euros to surrogate mothers in a year and two months.
Who is the Ozturk family?
The Ozturk family consists of more than 20 babies ranging in age from four to fourteen months. To give birth to this sibling, the surrogate mothers were paid 160,306 euros. 16 nannies work day and night to take care of the children’s every need and are paid the equivalent of 77,829 euros per year. The budget per week for the latter is 4646 euros because, to take care of the little blond and brown heads, you need 20 packets of diapers and 53 packets of breast milk. The nanny team and the babies live with the parents in a 3-story mansion. With more modest means, this mother will give birth to her tenth child at the same time as her daughter.
Growing offspring
To take care of this large sibling, parents spend nearly 80,000 euros for the services of 16 nannies who look after their children 24 hours a day. Kristina was already the mother of a six-year-old girl when she met Galip on a trip abroad. To conceive their first child, little Mustafa, they called on a surrogate mother. This mother improvised as a surrogate to give birth to the child of her homosexual son.
“It’s difficult to be a mother of 21 children when you’re pregnant.”
If this family called on surrogate mothers to have 20 babies, Kristina wishes to one day be able to give birth naturally. For now, she wants to take care of all her siblings before conceiving. “It’s difficult to be a mother of 21 children when you’re pregnant,” she says, adding that she does not want to enlarge her family for the moment.
“My days are never boring.”
If the couple now wants to have 100 children, it’s because both of them have dreamed of having a very large family since their childhood. They therefore made the decision to take the plunge and used the services of a surrogacy clinic, which participated in the realization of their project. For Kristina, it’s a busy schedule despite the constant help she receives. “Every day is different, from planning staff schedules to shopping for my family. I can tell you one thing: My days are never boring,” she laughs.
“She is very happy to have many brothers and sisters.”
When journalists ask this mother of a large family if it is possible to take good care of so many babies, she replies that she does her best to make each sibling happy. Victoria, Kristina’s first daughter, is happy to have so many siblings. “She always talks about it to everyone,” says Kristina, who adds that her eldest likes to take care of all these babies by reading them stories.
“Don’t use surrogate mothers if you don’t want to.”
While Kristina and her husband’s choices in life may be subject to debate, the mother of 21 fully assumes her family’s project. “My children are happy, and it’s nobody else’s business,” she says. She tells those who don’t agree with her decisions that they don’t have to have children. “Don’t use surrogates if you don’t want to; it’s your choice. But it’s our life, and it’s our choice,” she concludes. Like Kristina, this mother has realized her wish to have a large family: she has 16 children, all of whose first names begin with C.
What is surrogacy?
Also called GPA, this practice, which is prohibited in France, is legal in many countries, and some French couples can use this practice abroad to have a child. This consists of using a surrogate mother who will deliver the baby to the intended parents, namely couples who want to conceive together. Surrogacy can be practiced by artificial insemination (“procreation for others”) or even in vitro fertilization.
