Humans and animals from time immemorial have been able to live together peacefully. After all these years, this will never change.
The Asian elephant is a somewhat smaller brother to the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) known for their intelligence and characteristic personality.
This is reflected by a brain structure with a large and highly complex neocortex similar to that of humans, apes and some dolphins. Asian elephants can process information well, the cognitive process is more complex than that of monkeys most closely related to humans. Many times Asian elephants have been observed moving to safe areas. safer during times of natural disasters, such as tsunamis or earthquakes.
A study by scientists has proven, Asian elephants often comfort each other when suffering. The elephants in the study used both physical contact and sound as well as comfortable gestures, touching each other’s bodies and chirping. The study concludes this behavior is “best classified with similar consolation responses by apes, possibly based on the convergent evolution of empathy”.
This also partly explains why the baby elephants in the herd are always overprotected by their parents and other members of the herd. Even, elephant mothers and fathers are ready to do anything to ensure the highest safety for their children.
Recently, an event happened that made people in the village even more impressed by the affection of the elephants in the herd for each other.

That evening, the daily peaceful scene in the village was suddenly shattered by the pitiful cries coming from the wasteland. This caused a stir among the people and soon a group of young men arrived to see what was going on.
It turned out that a small elephant, probably about a few months old, was trapped under the concrete pit. Its mother, after a long search, finally discovered the lost child. The bulky body plus the small hole made it impossible for the animal to save its own baby. Things took a turn for the worse when the mother was so electrocuted that she fainted from hitting an electric fence.
Faced with that heartbreaking situation, people promptly turned off the electricity and helped the elephant up. Only after that moment did the elephant lead people to the place where the baby elephant was trapped in the hope of getting help from humans.
