Erik ten Hag will be desperate to overcome the disappointment of missing out on Cody Gakpo to Liverpool by acting quickly to secure a number of signings over the next month.
Manchester United have returned from the World Cup break in perfect fashion on the pitch but have endured a nightmare start off it after missing out on Cody Gakpo.
However, the Red Devils are determined to not let it affect other proceedings and the latest reports have claimed that they have already opened talks with two other strikers as they aim to fill the hole left by Cristiano Ronaldo. Elsewhere, Erik ten Hag is also keen on another Benfica starlet, although he will have to battle PSG for the player’s signature.
Ten Hag wants Benfica starlet
Man United may already be linked with signing one Benfica midfielder in the form of Enzo Fernandez but it has been revealed that they are also keen on his teammate, Cher Ndour.
The Red Devils added Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to their midfield ranks during the summer but with the pair not getting any younger, a long-term replacement is being considered. As a result, the highly-rated Ndour is now being targeted.
That’s according to Tutto Salernitana, who claim that United are battling it out with PSG and Juventus for the talented 18-year-old and could sign him for next to nothing in January ahead of his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

United open Terrier talks
According to reports, Man United have opened talks with Ligue 1 club Rennes over the potential signing of French forward Martin Terrier next month.
The 25-year-old has been in fine form in his homeland over the past two seasons and already has 15 goal involvements in 20 games across all competitions in the current campaign. After missing out on Gakpo, United are now looking into signing the Frenchman instead.
That’s according to Media Foot, who state that United have already opened talks with Rennes, although it is thought that Terrier’s impressive form this season has bumped his price tag up to around £40million.
As well as opening talks with Rennes for Terrier, it is also claimed that Man Utd have made contact with the agent of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram.
The 25-year-old was on show at the 2022 World Cup with France and has impressed in Germany this season with 13 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions. However, with his contract up at the end of the campaign, United can sign him for a cut-price fee next month.
And according to 90min, the Red Devils have contacted Thuram’s representatives over a potential deal in January, although they face competition from a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Newcastle.
