Steph Curry’s stellar Game 7 performance for the Golden State Warriors has left the basketball world waxing lyrical about him.
The point guard scored a playoff career-high 50 points to make league history for most points in a Game 7 as he helped his team reach the Western Conference semifinals with a 120-100 win over Sacramento Kings.
Curry’s remarkable performance led to one reporter asking the question ‘who can stop Steph Curry?’
It was met with a smirk and the response: ‘Hopefully we never find out.’

‘You just have to remind yourself every once in a while, big picture, this is one of the greatest players in the history of the game,’ he said following the series clinching victory.
‘That’s how I felt back in my playing days with Michael Jordan… For Steph to be the first player ever to get 50 in a Game 7, he’s sublime’.
Famed ESPN reporter Stephen A. Smith had similar praise for Curry following the epic performance.
‘We need to have the discussion as to whether or not this man is the greatest point guard who ever lived,’ he said.
Curry shot 20-38 from the field and 7-18 from beyond the arch in his history making performance that also set NBA Twitter ablaze as he put the game away.
The superstar led a memorable comeback in the series given the defending champions road woes all season and after going down 2-0.
‘It’s amazing ‘cuz you’re still in the fight,’ Curry said. ‘Better than the alternative of on the outside looking in. Having been down 0-2 in this series, nothing was guaranteed, you don’t take anything for granted.’

Curry’s teammate and fellow ‘Splash Brother’ Klay Thompson also spoke on the historic performance, he said: ‘What an incredible performance. This is a Game 7 I’ll forever remember as the Steph Curry game.’
Warriors’ Draymond Green added: ‘When you have rare situations, rare players do rare things. Steph Curry was that tonight. He was absolutely amazing.
‘You can tell when he’s locked in, laser-focused there’s not many defenses in the world that can stop him.’
Earvin Magic Johnson wrote on Twitter: ‘When the Warriors needed superstar Steph Curry the most, he put the team on his back and led them to a 120-100 win over the Kings! With 50 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, this was one of his greatest performances ever!’
Kevon Looney also grabbed 21 rebounds for a Warriors team that needed to win twice on the road.
Trailing 58-56 at halftime, the Warriors opened the second half with a 13-4 burst and held the Kings to 42 points after intermission.

Sacramento had scored early on with a beautiful combination of classic give-and-goes and long jumpers off crisp passing around the perimeter.
But Curry kept coming, and Looney kept scrapping to create second and third opportunities to cap his brilliant series on the boards. They sent Kings fans to the exits late in the fourth.
It was not only those within the NBA who were full of praise of the 50-point performance.
Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos, tennis star Andy Murray, University of South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley, and rapper turned Hollywood mogul 50 cent also took the time to acknowledge Curry’s heroics.
