A Nigerian American returnee, Babawande Afolabi, has been praised online for his amazing initiative of launching an airline called Green Africa Airways.
Though a Twitter handle @OvieAli claimed it is a new airline company, news about the outfit has been in the media as far back as 2018 as seen in Bloomberg and Black Enterprise.

A check on Bloomberg shows that the company which is under the sub-industry category of transportation and logistics was founded in 2015.
In 2018, Black Enterprise gathered that an order was placed for some airbuses after “the company reached an agreement with Boeing for some 737 MAX 8 aircraft”.
A further check on Facebook shows that the company announced that they indeed took delivery of a new aircraft with registration number ZS-ESS/5N-GAA on Friday, May 14, and are beginning commercial operations to Enugu, Abuja, Ilorin, Owerri, Port Harcourt, among others.

“My only concern is Akure. Not sure the passenger traffic in Akure can support a regular flight. Apart from being too close to Lagos it’s predominately a civil service state. How many people can afford Air travel.”

“Great and kudos to you Mr Afolabi Babawande. Your shadows will never grow shorter.”
@ndudimbrown said:
“I like the word affordable. What’s the name of the airline and any platform to connect the airline?”
@Fashtos said:
“Congrats to the young man. I pray Nigerian policies be favorable to you that you’d also be able to make right decisions to grow the business. Congrats man.”
It was also reported that the young man who is from Ile-Ife had a degree in political science and economics from Illinois Wesleyan University.
Before venturing into the airline industry, he was a venture investment expert in America with years of experience.
