Two stray Chihuahua mixes got covered in cactus needles in a front yard of a woman’s home in Mesa, Arizona. They were in extreme pain due to the needles.

Upon receiving a distress call, firefighters rushed to a woman’s front yard in Mesa, Arizona where two stray chihuahuas were found covered in cactus needles from head to toe. The dogs were in an extreme amount of pain and unable to move or stop shaking.
The firefighters managed to help the frightened dogs, who tried to run away and ended up rolling in more needles. Eventually, they successfully removed the needles and brought the dogs to the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control veterinary clinic. Under anesthesia, the needles were taken out, and thankfully, the dogs were able to recover.

Eventually, the dogs are currently under medical treatment and receiving medications and antibiotics at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. They will be up for adoption once they are fully recovered as no microchip was found on them.
