This 1973 Hodaka Dirt Squirt was acquired as a project by the seller in 2017, and it subsequently underwent a refurbishment that is said to have included powder-coating the double-cradle frame in red, re-plating chrome components, and zinc-plating hardware. The 98cc two-stroke single was overhauled as part of the refurbishment with a .020″-over piston and a replacement cylinder head and connecting rod, and it is paired with a five-speed transmission. Additional equipment includes a black vinyl-upholstered seat, an upswept expansion-chamber exhaust system, a kick starter, a chrome cross-braced handlebar, a Mikuni carburetor, staggered-diameter wire-spoke wheels, a bright fuel tank and high-mount fenders, and a side stand. This Dirt Squirt has remained on static display following the refurbishment and is now offered in Arizona at no reserve with a bill of sale.
The bike has a bright fuel tank and fenders over a double-cradle steel frame, which was reportedly powder-coated red under current ownership. The seller states that chrome components were re-plated and that the hardware was zinc-plated. Equipment includes a black vinyl-upholstered seat, Dirt Squirt graphics on the airbox, high-mount fenders, and a side stand.
Chrome-steel 19″ front and 17″ rear rims are laced to hubs with drum brakes and were mounted with IRC Trials GP-1 tires under current ownership. Suspension consists of a telescopic fork as well as dual chrome shocks mounted to the swingarm.
The cross-braced handlebar is equipped with black grips as well as a clutch lever and an ignition switch on the left and a twist-grip throttle and brake lever on the right. No instrumentation is equipped, therefore total mileage is unknown.
The 98cc two-stroke single was overhauled in 2017 by Roger Lippiatt of Hodaka Service in Salem, Ohio, with a .020″-over piston, and a replacement cylinder head, connecting rod, rings, kick roller retainer, condenser, and more as outlined in the receipt in the gallery. Equipment includes a Mikuni carburetor, a kick starter, and an upswept expansion chamber exhaust system. The engine has not been started or run by the seller.
The bike is equipped with a five-speed transmission. No drive chain is installed.
