You’ll fall in love with the Rivers Edge Cottage located in Edgewood, British Columbia, Canada. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, and 1 bath, and can accommodate up to 6 guests. Nestled on the banks of a horseshoe-shaped pond, the cabin, and sauna are remote and very private. It is surrounded by water on 3 sides and also has a river running past. The cabin can sleep 6, equipped with one private bedroom with a queen-size bed, and one open loft with a king-size bed. There is also a fold-out couch in case more room is needed. There is a full kitchen available as well as laundry services. The cabin also has a bbq and fire pit (firewood included). The owners have spent a great deal of time traveling the world and have stayed in many BnBs. They have designed this cabin to be extra special and private, with all of the amenities they expected on their journeys.
The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen including a fridge, stove, coffee maker, and toaster the kitchen is fully equipped (the water is filtered and very good to drink). There is no microwave and there is no TV. A wood-burning stove is the main heat for the winter with backup electric baseboards (firewood included). All utensils, bed linens, and towels are included. The cabin also has high-speed Wifi. The brand-new wood-fired sauna is nestled on a tiny island in the middle of the pond. There is plenty of room for parking out front. There is a fire pit and picnic table beside the pond in the back, and a bbq located on the beautiful covered front porch.
The vacation property is a hobby farm with horses, dogs, goats, chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Fresh eggs are also usually available. The owners have 2 large, and very friendly, livestock guardian dogs that patrol the property. They are likely to come and visit you during your vacation stay. You are also likely to see the horses grazing and the runner ducks enjoying a visit to the cabin for a swim during the day. You are welcome to come up for a farm tour and see the chickens and ducks, and watch or learn how to milk a goat. Because of the pets and livestock, the property is unable to accommodate pets.
Arrow lake is only a 15-minute drive from the cabin and Whatshan Lake, which is the second warmest lake in BC, is about a 20-minute drive. There are many places to walk or hike, and wildlife is abundant in the area as well. Bed and Bale services available. Scaia is an incredible place to ride horses. They have a small paddock available for you to bring your own. Extra fees apply. Sledding is big around the area in the winter. Scaia is beautiful in the winter too. Located a short drive from our door this is the perfect place to stay for just such an adventure. Guests have access to the whole lower part of the property. The river, ponds, island, and horse paddocks.
