Lionel Messi pulled off a spectacular ‘no-look assist’ to set up Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe for his side’s sensational solo winner on Saturday.
PSG travelled to the Stade Francis-Le Ble for their Ligue 1 clash with Brest only days after Bayern Munich dumped them out of the Champions League last 16.
PSG midfielder Carlos Soler fired Christophe Galtier’s men into a first-half lead, only for Franck Honorat to pull back an equaliser for Brest only six minutes later.
However, the defending Ligue 1 champions made their sought-after breakthrough against Brest in the 90th minute thanks to Messi’s sublime assist.
Messi was picked out near the halfway line and the Barcelona legend spliced the high line of the Brest defence apart with a mesmerising first-time pass.
Mbappe pounced on Messi’s ‘no-look’ through ball and charged towards the Brest box for a one-on-one chance with Netherlands international Marco Bizot.
The 24-year-old French forward expertly pushed the ball around a helpless Bizot before slotting the ball into the back of an empty Brest net.
Barcelona legend Messi, who chalked up his 300th club assist, was widely praised by fans on social media over his mesmerising pass to Mbappe.

“His no-look assists are extraordinary,” one fan said.
Someone else added: “The pass to Messi was disgusting [and the] Messi pass to Mbappe was nasty.”
“Messi makes things look so easy,” a third Twitter user posted.
Another tweeted: “Wow, that was too easy. Messi [is the GOAT].”
While a fifth commented: “Brilliant one-touch assist from Messi to Mbappe.”
PSG remain in full control of the Ligue 1 title race, with Galtier’s men 11 points clear at the top of the table ahead of second-place Marseille.
The Parisian-based club will return to action on 19th March when they welcome Rennes to the Parc des Princes for their Ligue 1 clash.
