101 Former NBA Players Voted On Who Is The Best Player In Today’s NBA

The NBA is full of talent right now, and some players are constantly putting up big performances, with some fighting for the unofficial title of the best player in the world.

The Athletic conducted a poll where 101 former NBA players voted for the best baller in the league right now, picking LeBron James.

1. LeBron James – 28.1%

2. Nikola Jokic – 21.2%

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo – 21.0%

4. Kevin Durant – 11.8%

5. Stephen Curry – 6.6%

5. Luka Doncic – 6.6%

7. Kyrie Irving – 2.2%

This is very impressive for LeBron, knowing that he’s not getting any younger and will keep playing at a high level at 38. The King has displayed a terrific level this season, once again carrying his Los Angeles Lakers, keeping hopes alive in the stacked Western Conference

James has been impressive this campaign, and even though Nikola Jokic is putting up incredible performances and numbers to lead the 2023 MVP race, King James is still considered the leader of the pack.

Out of the seven players who received votes for this title, Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Luka Doncic are still part of the MVP race, while Kevin Durant also had MVP buzz before he went down with an injury.

The 38-year-old superstar is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game in 47 duels, shooting 50.1% from the field and 75.9% from the free-throw line.

LeBron James Will Be Sidelined For An Extended Period

While this is a great honor for the 4x NBA champion, things aren’t going that well for him right now after picking up an injury. Lakers fans were anything but happy when the news of LeBron hurting his right foot saw the light. This is a major hit for them, as LeBron was playing great, leading the new-look Lakers to a 4-1 record after the trade deadline.

This situation isn’t good at all for the Purple and Gold, who must step up now and see if they can keep winning games while LeBron is out. Anthony Davis must take the reins of the team and show that he can lead the Lakers, or they will have a hard time playing without LeBron.

James has a very good case for being considered the best player in the league right now, and it’s clear that many former players are convinced there’s nobody better than him at this moment.
