Manchester United star is a better player than Scott McTominay and is probably on the same level as Fred.
Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is a better player than Scott McTominay and is probably on the same level as Fred, says Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
The 28-year-old joined the Red Devils on loan from Bayern Munich on deadline day, and Taylor thinks he is a good fit for Erik ten Hag’s side.
Man United transfer news – Marcel Sabitzer
Sabitzer, who is earning £110,000 a week, according to Capology, has not ruled out signing for United permanently in the summer.
“It’s a loan at the moment. That’s all I can say,” the Austrian was recently quoted as saying by the MailOnline. “I like it here. I’m feeling very good here.
“I like the team, I like the club, the atmosphere in Old Trafford. We will see what happens in the summer.”
United decided to bring Sabitzer in after it was revealed that Christian Eriksen could be out of action until May after picking up an ankle injury.
What has Ryan Taylor said about Marcel Sabitzer and Man United?
Taylor rates Sabitzer higher than McTominay and believes him and United are a good match.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the Daily Express journalist said: “I think he’s better than McTominay. He’s probably about the same level as Fred.
“I know the two as a pair are a little bit chaotic, but I feel like he’s a committed player with quality and he really does suit United’s style of play.”
Should Man United sign Marcel Sabitzer permanently?
It is still probably a bit too early to make a decision. However, if the Austria international adapts well to the Premier League, then it is something they should consider, as he does have a lot to offer.
First of all, Sabitzer, who is valued at around £17m by Transfermarkt, has plenty of experience. In his career, he has made 185 appearances in the Bundesliga and over 70 in Europe.
He is also a midfielder who is very good in and out of possession.
“I particularly like the midfield with Marcel Sabitzer and Konrad Laimer – two players who are very strong both with and without the ball,” former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told SPOX Austria when discussing the Austria national team back in December.
“They move very cleverly between the lines and are also physically impressive.”
With Eriksen out for a long period, Ten Hag will be relying on Sabitzer. And if he delivers, then yes, you would expect United to give serious thought to buying him in the summer.
Sevilla eyeing up a move for Victor Lindelof
Sevilla are interested in signing 28-year-old Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof in the summer.According to a report by Fichajes, Spanish side Sevilla are interested in signing Victor Lindelof from Manchester United. The 28-year-old has fallen down in the pecking order at United and is likely to leave in the summer. Jorge Sampaoli is keen on having the Swedish centre back at his disposal.
Victor Lindelof hasn’t had much game time under new boss Erik ten Hag. The arrival of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez at Old Trafford has seen him fall out of favour. And, by the look of things he is not in the plans of the Dutch manager. As a result, he is likely to leave in the summer. Sevilla have sensed the opportunity and are likely to push for him.
Lindelof joined Manchester United from Benfica in the summer of 2017. United splashed out €35 million in order to bring him to the club. But, his move hasn’t really worked out as expected. While he has been exceptional on days but he hasn’t been consistent. His contract at the Manchester-based club expires in the summer of 2024. There is an option to extend it by a year. But, letting him leave in the summer makes perfect sense as he can fetch them a decent amount.
The 28-year-old has made a total of 214 appearances for the Premier League club but he hasn’t been able to cement his spot in the team. As a result, a move elsewhere in the summer might help him revive himself and get more first-team action.
Meanwhile, the new Red Devils boss is expected to make quite a few moves in the summer window. He will be looking to offload a few players while trying to sign new players who could fit into his system.
Jorge Sampaoli is having a tough time with Sevilla in the ongoing season. The Spanish club are 12th in the league with just 24 points out of their 21 matches. It has been a poor season by their standards.
However, Sampaoli is expected to make a few moves ahead of next season. His priority will be to sign a new defender. The Andalusia-based club saw two of their star defenders Diego Carlos and Jules Kounde leave the club in the summer of 2022.
They haven’t been successful in replacing them yet and are looking for a new defensive leader. Sampaoli believes that Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof could be their next leader in defence. It will be interesting to see if Sevilla could strike a deal with the Red Devils for the services of the Swedish centre-back in the summer.
