Paris Saint-Germain players recently took a tour of the upcoming site of their new $286 million training facility. Iconic stars like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar traded in their soccer uniforms for hard hats, jackets, and trousers in order to get an up-close look at the facility they will be utilizing at the beginning of the next season.
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi welcomed the players to the new facility, wishing them to have the optimal conditions to keep succeeding in the future. Located near their current Camp des Lodges training ground near the outskirts of Paris, it is approximately 20 miles away from their stadium.
The development of the new space for the PSG team to utilize is expected to be finished by the Spring. The team’s transition will begin at the beginning of the pre-season and the academy players will join them in January 2024. This project has been in the works since the club was purchased by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011. A total of nearly $286 million was put into the construction of this facility, with construction beginning in 2016.
The superstars of soccer such as Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar were sporting some uncommon ensembles, yet still managed to be in good spirits as they toured the grounds of the facility. This facility, which is designed to help young athletes develop their skills and move up to an elite level, features a professional players’ building and numerous playing fields.
The recent photo of Lionel Messi wearing a helmet and posing with his new Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) teammates on a construction site of the club’s new ground has gone viral on social media. With the image, Messi has been accepted as one of the PSG family.
The photo, which was taken during a team-building activity at the PSG construction site, has been circulating on Twitter and Instagram. It has been shared and liked by millions of fans around the world, some of whom have been expressing their joy at seeing their favorite player in a new attire.
Since PSG’s takeover in 2011, they have had success in the French Ligue 1, clinching eight championships. Yet, the team hasn’t fulfilled its ultimate goal of capturing the Champions League. The Parisians are hoping that their recent investment in a new training facility will help to prepare them better for the continent’s most renowned contest.
