BYD has presented a new 1100-horsepower electric supercar Yangwang U9.
Chinese automobile giant BYD has announced release of a new electric supercar under its premium sub-brand YangWang.
The model, named YangWang U9, surprises by being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just two seconds, leaving competition to the Rimac Nevera, which accelerates to «hundred» in 1.97 seconds.
Unlike the Rimac Nevera, which costs more than two million dollars (140.68 million rubles), the estimated cost of the YangWang U9 is about one million yuan (9.89 million rubles).
The new Chinese supercar is set in motion by four independent electric motors with a total capacity of more than 1100 hp.
There’s almost no information about the supercar Yangwang U9. We only know that the model is also an electric car with four motors, and that it can acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just two seconds.
Company representatives said that they used the design language of the «Gate of Time and Space».
Attention is paid not only to speed, and safety, and comfort, as BYD’s development team has developed an «extremely safe body design.»
As for the exterior, the «nine» received the «butterfly wing» type doors and fin-stabilizer.
Also the sports car has got headlights, consisting of a lot of LED «strokes»: this design solution the Chinese called the «starry sky».
Other technical characteristics of YangWang U9 are kept secret for now.
The price has not been announced, but BYD has presented it as a «million yuan» supercar, so the price should be around $145,000.
