The Foxverse X-Men universe has always been present to deliver to the Marvel audience the early formative years of the superhero subgenre, even before the Marvel Cinematic Universe became a thing. Bryan Singer’s X-Men films then became notoriously significant in their impact to streamline and launch a universe that dictated a set of events surrounding the origin and evolution of many superheroes.
Throughout the next two decades, the people have been privy to one of the most convoluted narratives in the history of cinema as well as an accompanying controversial on-set behavior on the director’s part.

Recently, a prominent and former Foxverse cast spoke up while sitting at the Actress Roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter. Although Jennifer Lawrence did not directly address the sexual abuse allegations that have been raging against the director, she did state, however, that Singer was problematic to work with:
“It was incredible to not be around toxic masculinity — to get a little break from it. […] I mean, I’ve worked with Bryan Singer. I’ve seen emotional men. I’ve seen the biggest hissy fits thrown on set.”

This statement was then supported by Hugh Jackman speaking up against the director, claiming to The Guardian:
“You know, that’s a really, really complicated question. There’s a lot of things at stake there… And there’s certainly questions to be asked, and I think they should be asked. But I guess I don’t know how to elegantly answer that. I think it’s complex…
I think there are some ways of being on set that would not happen now. And I think that things have changed for the better. There’s way less tolerance for disrespectful, marginalizing, bullying, or any oppressive behavior. There’s zero tolerance for it now and people will speak out, and I think that’s great.”
In 2020, actress Halle Berry, who had infamously lashed out against Bryan Singer on the sets of the film, X2: X-Men United, claimed in an article for Variety, “Bryan’s not the easiest dude to work with,” before going on to extensively state the extent of discomfort created on the sets because of the director.
All Foxverse Actors Who Spoke Out Against Bryan Singer
Over the years, multiple actors have spoken out against the infamous Hollywood director, Bryan Singer, who is most famously known for bringing Marvel’s X-Men to the big screens. And among those who have been vocal about the director crossing the lines on certain occasions are Halle Berry, Sophie Turner, as well as Jessica Chastain, and Bohemian Rhapsody actor, Rami Malek.
Actress Halle Berry was among the first to speak out, early on, in the days preceding the X-Men Foxverse fame when the volatile on-set behavior of Singer led to Hugh Jackman suffering a grievous injury while doing an unsupervised stunt.

Jessica Chastain, who was in the 2019 film, Dark Phoenix, claimed:
“I’m going to speak my mind about any injustice that I see. I’m not afraid of anything in terms of that. And I think the greatest myth that an industry can create is to make people feel like they’re easily replaceable. I’m not going to allow that into my life.”
Co-incidentally, Sophie Turner, who was the lead of Dark Phoenix, spoke out a year prior to the X-Men spin-off film against Bryan Singer about his behavior on the sets of the Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), alongside lead actor, Rami Malek. Singer was later fired from the film and has been visibly absent from Hollywood ever since.
