Tiger Woods has been having a tough luck in 2024. After his last appearance in July at the Open Championship, where he ended up missing the cut, he was hopeful to return to Albany. But the hopes were shattered. He underwent his sixth back surgery in the last ten years in September 2024, and well, as it turns out, he has not recovered fully, at least not enough to start swinging his clubs again.
The 2024 Hero World Challenge is scheduled from December 5 to December 8, and on November 25, Woods announced his withdrawal. This surely disappointed the fans. But looks like, there is still a ray of hope left for Woods fans, and the news of course is significant to keep up with Charlie Woods’s expectations.
The official Tiger Woods fan page, TW Legion, took to their X account and shared an update. They wrote, “FWIW, Golf Digest reports that Tiger is ‘expected’ to play the PNC with son Charlie. The same article says he has committed but has yet to see official confirmation of that. Woods announced earlier this evening that he’s disappointed to not be able to play at Hero.”

The PNC Championship starts 14 days later than the HWC, and the GOAT may recover significantly in this time to tee up with his son. After all, it is something he loves. But if not at the Ritz Carlton, when will Tiger Woods play next?
Tiger Woods to make a comeback at the TGL
The virtual contest, initially set for a January 2024 launch, was postponed after a power outage caused the collapse of the air-supported dome roof at Florida’s SoFi Center. Tiger Woods is now scheduled to compete with his Jupiter Links Golf Club team on January 14. The Jupiter Links GC has Tiger Woods as its captain along with Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner.
The notion that Woods can play a central role in many of his team’s matches is well-founded. He’s highly available, resides nearby, and holds a financial stake in the league’s success. Additionally, this format differs significantly from the demands of walking 72 holes over four consecutive days as it is centered around technology and playing golf simulation.
There are sure a lot of hopes for him to come out victorious. Now whether that will be possible or not, only time will tell! Do you think he will return in December or will make a comeback directly in 2025? Let us know in the comments section below!
