Keanu Reeves has made millions thanks to his films. However, fans are amazed at how great and humble the actor is off-camera. There are multiple instances of Keanu being a great human-being. Just a week prior to John Wick: Chapter 4, Lance Reddick passed away. Keanu was heartbroken by the loss, and he spoke fondly about his chemistry with the late actor, both on and off the film set.
“We worked together on four films over ten years,” Keanu said of his co-star. “I guess what comes to mind right now is the first time that I met him and we worked together on John Wick, he had this idea for the way that he wanted the character to speak and just his enthusiasm and passion,” Reeves recalls of Reddick, “and the way that he and I got to work and kind of speak the unspoken, that connection. It’s just really cool.”
Keanu continues, “I always thought that the connection between John Wick and Charon was special. I always said to him that people liked John Wick because he liked John Wick.”
Keanu Reeves dedicated the film to his co-star. As it turns out, Keanu had quite the impact on Reddick during their time together.

Lance Reddick was in for quite the moment on the set of John Wick. His first scene was on the day of Keanu’s birthday. However, Reeves wasn’t on-set that day, or at least he wasn’t supposed to be. According to Reddick, Keanu showed up to set and supported his co-star and as it turns out, that was Reeves’ wish.
“During John Wick: Chapter Four, my first day of filming happened to be Keanu’s birthday. But he wasn’t in the scene. He came to the set anyway at nine o’clock at night with his girlfriend who I had never met… And she told me that she asked Keanu what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said, “I want to go see Lance.”

“He’d never done this before, but he wrote me a note thanking me for what I brought to the character in these movies. And he wanted to give the note to me. I’ll never forget it. I’m going to cry now.”
In truth, this was far from the only time Keanu Reeves went out of his way to support a co-star.

Keanu Reeves being generous with his time is nothing new, and we’ve heard multiple stories from his co-stars in the past. Carrie-Ann Moss discussed how Keanu always made time, even when his schedule was packed.
Moss revealed with Ranker, “In the Matrix movies, I’ve always felt like I was his partner, and he was my partner, in the execution of these characters. It was never the feeling of, Oh, he’s the movie star. His work ethic is unlike anyone I’ve ever met, and I’ve seen it up close: He trains harder, works harder, cares more, always asks more and more questions to understand the depth of what we’re doing.”
She continues, “And while he was doing all of that for himself, he always had an eye out for me. Like when I asked him for those movies, it seems like a little thing, but he’s so busy, he’s exhausted, and took the time to write this very, very thoughtful list.”
Ali Wong, Keanu’s co-star in Always Be My Maybe also praised the actor for putting the attention on his co-stars, and standing in the back during the premiere so the spotlight wouldn’t be on him. We can go on and on about Keanu and his ‘nice guy’ stories.
