Back in August, then expecting mother and University of South Florida doctoral student, Queshonda Kudaisi tested positive for COVID-19. She explained in a recent tweet, “I thought the baby and I wouldn’t survive, or that I would have to push back my graduation.”
Kudaisi not only beat the virus, but in October, was able to successfully defend her dissertation research in the university’s department of curriculum, instruction and learning – officially becoming Dr. Queshonda Kudaisi.
The celebration continued on December 11 when she was discharged from the hospital with her healthy baby girl on the same day as her graduation ceremony.
Congratulations, Dr. Kudaisi on your beautiful bundle of joy and academic achievement. Cheers to health, excellence and motherhood.
