Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have had their friendship questioned (gasp!) over the past few months, with rumors swirling that T-Swift did not approve of Gomez’s conscious re-coupling with Justin Bieber. Well, Swift and Gomez have something for the friendship doubters: an Instagram video! Of dancing! In elegant gowns!
On Tuesday morning (May 6), Gomez posted an Instagram video of herself and Swift traipsing through the Metropolitan Museum of Art at New York’s Met Gala on Monday night. “And during.. sometimes you wanna just be you with someone who knows all your secrets,” reads Gomez’s caption.
Perhaps even more revealing, however, is the music in the short clip. Frank Sinatra’s “Volare” can be heard, including the line “Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind,” which seems aimed directly at the pop rumor mill.
Last month, Gomez was the big winner at the Radio Disney Music Awards, earning Song of the Year (“Come & Get It”) and Most Talked About Artist, among other accolades. Swift and Gomez were among the many music stars at the 2014 Met Gala — Jay Z & Beyonce, Janelle Monae, Kanye West and Frank Ocean were also in the house.
