The Memphis Grizzlies have raved about their toughness and how physical they are.
And Ja Morant is putting his money where his mouth is.
Besides playing with a sore hand, the former No. 2 pick is currently playing through an injured elbow.
Notably, even some fans that didn’t think the injury was all that serious at first had to tip their hats off to him once a picture of his elbow went viral on social media.
Morant is tough as nails, a fierce competitor, and a guy who’ll try and lead by example on the court.
His off-court issues are hopefully a thing of the past now, and he wants to be available for his team night in and night out.
He’s made it clear that he’s going to play through injury and endure the pain if that’s what it takes to uplift his team in the postseason.
And they’re going to need some big-time heroics to try and come back from this 3-1 deficit against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Notably, the Grizzlies’ lone win came in the game Morant was forced to sit out, but that doesn’t mean they play better without him.
Morant is one of the rising stars in the league, and he’ll be one of the faces of the NBA for years to come, so he needs to make sure to take care of his body.
But for now, all that matters is getting those three wins they need to move on, although it seems like a bit of an uphill race right now.
