Matthew Parkin (Welsh) accidentally “excavated” a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE in an abandoned warehouse. The car was almost completely rusted, the paint could not be clearly seen after more than 4 decades of being buried.

“The Ferrari had been lying in an abandoned warehouse for 40 years before I found it. It was covered in moss, completely rusted and the car door was not intact,” Matthew shared.

According to Gloucestershire , the former owner bought it for £800 in 1973. After 10 years of use, he engraved his name on the bodywork and stored it in storage for four decades. The antique car was quickly bought by a collector for £107,000, equivalent to nearly $132,000 at an auction.

Ferrari 250 GTE is Ferrari’s first 4-seater car model that was mass-produced in the period 1959-1963 with a total of 995 units. The car is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission and the famous 3.0L Colombo V12 engine block, producing 237 horsepower and a maximum speed of 240 km / h.
