Bruno Fernandes channels Cristiano Ronaldo and coaches Manchester United teammates on touchline

Bruno Fernandes went full Cristiano Ronaldo by coaching his teammates from the touchline in their FA Cup semi-final.

And it might have worked, with Manchester United knocking Brighton out of the competition on penalties after a scoreless 120 minutes.

The United midfielder was taken off in extra time, having failed to make a telling impact during 101 minutes of action.

With the whistle blowing for the end of the first half of extra time shortly after, Fernandes was seen heavily involved on the touchline.

The de-facto United captain could even be heard berating his teammates, before singling out Luke Shaw for a pep-talk.

The scenes were hugely reminiscent of Fernandes former United teammate and fellow Portugal international Ronaldo during the Euro 2016 final.

The then Real Madrid superstar couldn’t play-out the win over France after picking up an injury, but made his presence felt as he joined manager Fernando Santos on the touchline to instruct the team.

On that occasion Portugal came out victorious, beating France 1-0 in extra time, and it was the same story for Fernandes as United progressed to the final to face Manchester City.
