An unusual birth occurred on a busy highway in Atlanta. 23-year-old Deshai Fudd’s water broke while she was on her way to the hospital. Since there was no chance to get to the facility quickly, the woman began to give birth in the car. She captured the amazing moment on video.
That day, 23-year-old Deshai felt contractions from the morning on, but before going to the hospital, the woman decided to wait for her husband, who was still at work. “It took a long time to give birth to each of my children. With my son, I was in the hospital for three days before he was born. And the hospital is quite far away, so I thought I didn’t want to go there just to be sent home, which we’d be going back and forth all day,” she told Good Morning America.
When the man returned home, they immediately set off, but on the highway, they got stuck in a huge traffic jam. The time to reach the hospital increased to almost 25 minutes. Meanwhile, after ten minutes, Deshai’s waters broke, and after a while, the woman went into labor. “Suddenly something exploded in my pants. I looked in there and saw a baby,” she said.
Fortunately, the child’s father spotted a policeman in the car next to him, to whom he turned for help. The surprised officer immediately activated the alarm signals and escorted the parents with the newborn to the hospital.
When they got there, the staff was already waiting for them in front of the facility. “They cut the umbilical cord in the car and wrapped my daughter in blankets. They put me in a wheelchair and took us upstairs,” Deshai recalled to Good Morning America.
