The actor went incognito in luxe black separates save for her Valentino Garavani Supervee bag, which shone like a high-fashion beacon owing to its bold, gold “V” hardware. A silk scarf secured around her face, instead of a protective mask, was the other clue that gave Jolie away as a celebrity on Fairfax Avenue.
The compact Supervee joins Jolie’s Roman Stud Nappa Chain bag in her current collection of Valentino leather goods on rotation. The latter quilted design, embellished with the brand’s signature maxi studs, has been safely nestled in the crook of her arm on previous shopping trips this winter. A tribute to Valentino’s iconic Rockstud – which swept the street-style scene after its 2010 conception – creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli reinvented the motif by blowing it up for spring/summer 2021. For now, Jolie’s small but perfectly formed Supervee is the perfect companion in which to house her essentials during her holiday errand running. This Christmas might look a little different, but her designer cross-body bag, with its maxi metallic logo, adds a pinch of glamour to low-key festive outings.
And crucially, it marks out the Maleficent star as a Valentino woman before a new cohort of influencers buys into the Rockstud revival next year.
