British couple James and Nikki Roadnight were in for the surprise of a lifetime when Keanu Reeves showed up to celebrate their nuptials on Monday in Northamptonshire, England.
The groom saw the “Matrix” actor, 57, hanging out in the bar of the Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa and invited him to the reception.
“He was very friendly and said he would [come] later on,” Nikki told Newsweek Thursday. “We didn’t know if he would or not but it was cool that my husband had spoken to him!”
As the newlyweds enjoyed the party, a hotel staff member told them that a “very special guest” was waiting for them.
“It was all very exciting,” the bride raved. “I went to say hi and introduce myself, and I offered him a drink but he declined that and said he’d just had a long flight so wouldn’t stay long but he was so kind and friendly and congratulated us on our wedding.”
She noted that Reeves not only talked to “starstruck” wedding attendees, but also posed for pictures with the newlyweds.
“My mum, Jo, took photos and shouted for everyone to yell ‘Speed’ as she took the photo,” Nikki continued. “We laughed about that as it’s one of his older films! We are big fans.”
She added that while the wedding was already “perfect” and “magical,” Reeves made the special day “out of this world” by giving them “something to remember [at] the start of many more adventures.”
The “John Wick” star, who is dating artist Alexandra Grant, has been dubbed the nicest guy in Hollywood for the way he treats fans and others in the industry.
In July 2019, for example, Reeves made headlines for getting out of his car and writing a note on a fan’s yard sign.
A Change.org petition was created two months prior gunning for Time magazine to crown him Person of the Year, and it garnered nearly 200,000 signatures.
“Keanu is the most wholesome person alive, make him the person of the year!” the July 2019 petition read. “Keanu has secretly donated millions of his earnings to children’s hospitals and other charities, and has done amazing things for people in public while ask[ing] for nothing in return.”
Signers called the actor “an angel,” gushing that he “deserve[d]” the outlet’s honor — which ultimately went to environmental activist Greta Thunberg.
