Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Alex Matos this summer, according to a report from Football.Insider released today.
They say that the youngster will move on a free transfer this summer when his contract at Carrow Road runs out.
Chelsea have agreed a sell on fee with the Canaries, ensuring they are compensated if the Blues were to sell Matos for big money at some point in the future. He has yet to play a senior game, but has impressed in the U18 Premier League and the PL2.
One of the key objectives of the Clearlake Consortium’s takeover has been refreshing the youth system, and as well as staff changes we’ve seen a host of teenage talent imported to bolster the U18s and the development squad.
The talented Matos could yet be the jewel in the crown of this youth revolution at Cobham, if he continues to develop as he has done.
