A BRITISH actor who is famed for playing a DC Comics character has been spotted looking unrecognisable in the new Thor film.
The star lent himself to the Marvel universe to play the horrifying villain in Thor: Love and Thunder, coming to cinemas this summer.
Gorr the God Butcher is set to be the latest villain in the film franchise – and is played by a very familiar face.
Christian Bale is behind the terrifying-looking new character, who appeared bloody and scarred in the first-look trailer.
The actor – who is famed for playing superhero Batman in a number of the DC films – will fight Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the new movie.
Teaser clips show Christian, 48, looking unrecognisable in a full face of heavy make-up to remove his hair and change his facial structure.
Scary character Gorr the God Buctcher emerges from a shadowy thicket in the two-minute-long trailer, showing the upcoming action.
Gorr appears to go on to destroy the entire planet as he squares off with other heroes, Valkyrie (played by Tessa Thompson).
“You are not like the other gods I’ve killed,” he tells Thor and Valkyrie as they engage in tense battle to save the world.
Thor fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the new film since the last Thor film, Ragnarok, came out in 2017.
Thor: Love and Thunder is due to be released in cinemas on July 8 – with Natalie Portman, Karen Gillan and Chris Pratt starring in it.
It comes after fans of Christian Bale were left baffled after discovering he was BRITISH in an interview in 2019.
The actor usually speaks with an American twang on the big screen, playing the likes of Bruce Wayne’s crime-fighting alter ago.
Film buffs were shocked when Bale sat down for a BBC Breakfast interview about his film Le Mans ’66.
The star showed off an exaggerated Cockney accent during the chat, revealing he was born in Wales.
Bale spent some of his teenage years in Bournemouth, on the south coast, and even lived in Portugal for a short time.
Dozens of viewers took to Twitter to express their shock and disbelief as Bale chatted away, channelling his inner Dick Van Dyke.
“I really can’t believe that Christian Bale is actually British,” commented one person. “It’s mind-blowing.”
“Head’s gone here,” remarked another shocked user. “[As] if that’s Christian Bale’s actual f**king accent.”
