While all four members of the girl group Blackpink have dabbled in the world of haute fashion, it’s Lisa whose presence is the most notable. Take for instance her traffic-stopping appearance at the Prada show in February of last year, where she sat front row in a metallic gold skirt suit from Mrs Prada’s spring/summer 2020 offering, basking in the knowledge that it was the key look of the collection, and that all eyes were on her. It wasn’t a one-off – the Thai K-Pop star elicits a similarly frenzied reaction whenever she attends a show.

The 24-year-old musician is fast becoming one of the world’s most-watched style mavens. Her personal taste is intriguing: while her stage looks are packed with look-at-me glitz, her day-to-day ensembles are distinguished by a primness that manifests in tweed cropped jackets by Celine or ladylike prints by Mulberry or Michael Kors. Then there’s her love of logos – witness a particularly outré Louis Vuitton monogrammed fleece that made for inspiring airport attire.
Now, she’s made her long-awaited solo debut with her new mini album, Lalisa, and dropped a music video for the title track that sees her riding a motorbike, pole dancing, leading a squad of back-up dancers in the desert and nodding to her own Thai heritage. Unsurprisingly, the fashion on show is nothing short of spectacular, from billowing ball gowns and acres of fringe to wildly printed co-ords that pay tribute to Iron Maiden and a golden showstopper with a matching headpiece.
To mark its release, Miss Vogue presents nine style takeaways to note from Blackpink’s Lisa Manoban’s wardrobe.
- Pietro S. D’Aprano1/920 February 2020Does it get any better than this? Lisa chose a stand-out gold suit for her first appearance on the Prada front row. Observe the levels of coordination here: her suit and her bag, and her boots and her newly jet-black hair. Lisa meets Prada — name a more iconic duo.
- The Chosunilbo JNS2/918 February 2020Lisa frequently errs on the preppy side, but never more so than with this Prada look. From the subtle floral shirt — collar and cuffs exposed — to the lattice-like detail on both her bag and her loafers, this outfit earns her a 10 out of 10 from us.
- Han Myung-Gu3/929 October 2019The musician arrived at a Bulgari event in Seoul sporting a deconstructed pinstripe blazer and patent court shoes with lashings of fine jewellery. Simple and effective.
- Han Myung-Gu4/926 September 2019Lisa makes an airport dash a stylish affair. Jetting out of South Korea in 2019, the star wore top-to-toe Celine by Hedi Slimane, including the coveted Triomphe bag. Understated and chic, with a dash of fashion kudos.

Note how she references multiple eras. The sharp sequined jacket has its roots in 20th century trends, the light wash jeans are very Noughties, and yet her knee-high snakeskin boots nod to her contemporary pop star status. The red cross-body bag provides the perfect splash of colour.
- JTBC PLUS6/916 June 2019Lisa walked through Incheon Airport in South Korea wearing oversized separates. However, this being Lisa, they weren’t just any separates – her cosy fleeces are by Louis Vuitton. Note the addition of a classic quilted Chanel handbag.
- JTBC PLUS7/99 January 2019We know that Lisa isn’t afraid to showcase her fashion allegiances by way of a logo or two. Here, she softens the impact of her statement Balenciaga bag by teaming it with an understated tailored coat and laid-back trainers.
- Edi Chen8/912 September 2018Lisa made her New York Fashion Week debut at the spring/summer 2019 Michael Kors Collection show, wearing a red and white polka-dot dress with a floral handbag. This look was textbook Lisa: a sweet silhouette worn with something a little surprising. On this occasion, black sock boots.
- THE FACT9/99 June 2018In Seoul, South Korea, Lisa attended a Mulberry event wearing a full look from the British brand. She’s played with texture, teaming her cotton blouse with velvet trousers and a leather bag decorated with studs and a silk scarf. It’s part ’70s, part English heritage, all winning.SRC: https://www.vogue.co.uk/
