Actor Emma Corrin had Marvel fans speculating about characters the moment they were announced to be playing Deadpool 3‘s villain, but one of the most popular guesses, the android Danger, has now been debunked.
Deadline’s Justin Kroll wrote on Twitter that “multiple sources” have confirmed to him that Corrin’s role, while still unknown, will not be Danger. The physical result of the X-Men’s Danger Room training simulation software gaining sentience, Danger first appeared in 2005’s Astonishing X-Men Vol. 3 #8. An already-circulating rumor that Danger would be Deadpool 3‘s villain led fans to guess that Corrin would be portraying the character.
The addition of The Crown‘s breakout star was officially announced by Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, on Feb. 14. In a tweet welcoming Corrin to “the Deadpool family,” the Wade Wilson actor did not confirm anything about the role, but reports quickly emerged that they would be playing a villain.
Who’s Back for Deadpool 3?
Confirmed to be returning so far are franchise star Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, reprising his role of Wolverine for what will be his tenth appearance as the iconic X-Men character. Regardless, Jackman has said that his appearance in Deadpool 3 will not undercut the poignant send-off he gave the character in 2017’s Logan. Rather than have Wolverine return from the grave, Jackman has hinted that time travel may be involved in pulling an earlier version of Logan from the timeline. “All because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines, now we can go back because you know it’s science,” Jackman said. “And so I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline which was important to me and I think probably to the fans too.”
Zazie Beetz is reportedly in talks to reprise her Deadpool 2 role as the lucky fan-favorite Domino. At the same time, Leslie Uggams is expected to appear again as Wade Wilson’s landlady, Blind Al. Currently unconfirmed rumors have also claimed that Loki‘s Owen Wilson will feature in a prominent role as Time Variance Authority agent Mobius M. Mobius.
Deadpool 3 will premiere in theaters on Nov. 8, 2024.
