Dads on duty!
“All of our doctors use Spotsylvania Regional and The nursing staff has been extremely pleasant, passionate and caring,” Kyle Dean, one of the new dads said. “The staff truly make you feel like they care. From everyone that enters the room, from the cleaning staff, nurses, NICU, et cetera.”

Starling: How are each of you feeling today?
Kyle Dean: I’m doing good just enjoying some time at home.
AS: How about you Kyle?
Kyle Frederick: It’s feeling good. We have a handful of them already just adding to the bunch.
AS: Michael, how are you feeling? Are you guys exhausted?
Michael Irvine: Ha, to say the least.
AS: It’s a different kind of tired, it’s not the same kind of tired you get when you’re working all night.
MI: No, it’s an adrenaline rush this is a little different
AS: Kyle Dean, you guys knew you would end up at the same hospital. What did you think when you found out it was happening all at the same time?
KD: A few weeks before we were all together at work and talked about it and how crazy it would be — saw each other in the hallways and stuff like that.
MI: Once I found out I actually told the nurses. Just a heads up — two of my guys are coming as well and we ended up with the nickname from the nursing staff as the fab three!
AS: Do you think these little guys will be buddies?
KF: I’m sure they will be, we’ll get together to do the milestone pictures of all three of them together. maybe one day we’ll get them up to the firehouse and do a group photo there too.
AS: What’s your advice for a first-time dad?
KF: Definitely take advantage of it and don’t blink because it goes by fast.”
MI: The biggest thing is to be present as much as you can, With our schedule — because like Kyle Frederick says it goes by in a flash. They grow up so quickly so be there as much as you can and enjoy the moments.
