Selena Gomez fans rejoice! The singer has dropped a definite hint that she is finally working on something new. She’s actually on a recording studio!
Her most recent significant release was the Spanish-language EP Revelación, which was way back last year.
In a short video shared to her TikTok account on July 6, Wednesday, Selena Gomez hinted to the release of new songs, indicating that she was ready for the album’s sequel. Selena was effortlessly stylish in a black leather jacket and matching shirt.
She displayed her prominent pout and slender gold hoop earrings by bending her head and staring at the camera.
The “Spring Breakers” actress had her raven hair pulled up, with tendrils framing her face, and she wore studio headphones while speaking into the microphone.
The only audible sound in the video however was the rustle of her clothing as she moved around, although she was drenched in fashionable pink and purple light.
Although fans cannot hear what she could be singing in this possible new offering, there is no doubt that it means she’s dropping something. It’s in the caption, after all.
“New,” Gomez captioned her image, implying that new music was forthcoming.
The former Disney star signified her return to music at the season two premiere of Only Murders In The Building late last month.
“I am actually working on [music] right now,” Selena told ET on the red carpet. “It’s just been a little hectic with this, but um I am in the studio. I’m excited.”
After the Spanish album, her fans must have heard her singing with Coldplay, on a collaborative tune entitled “Let Somebody Go.” It dropped in February and was featured on the band’s album “Music Of The Spheres.”
While that is well and good for the fans of her vocals, it must be noted that Selena is not acknowledged as a songwriter on this song.
“Rare,” the artist’s last full-length album released in 2020, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart.
After finishing the second season of her hit Hulu mystery-comedy “Only Murders In The Building,” Selena appears prepared to return to her musical career.
She co-stars with Steve Martin and Martin Short as New York City apartment building neighbors who are captivated by a real crime podcast.
But when one of their neighbors dies in a bizarre manner, the three investigate the death while simultaneously launching their own podcast.
The second season of “Only Murders In The Building” aired on Hulu on June 28 and continues a weekly release mode.
