Manchester United have been linked with a surprise move for Borussia Dortmund veteran Marco Reus.
Unless the German agrees new terms at Dortmund he will be able to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season. It is believed that Erik ten Hag met with Reus’ agent recently which spurred talk that he could be a target for United.
However, it appears Reus won’t be moving to Old Trafford as things stand.
According to the Daily Mail, United have ruled out the potential signing of Reus, who has been terribly misfortunate with injuries throughout his career.
Reus currently earns a whopping £200,000-a-week and I’m not sure we need to be adding any 33-year-olds to the squad who are going to demand big salaries. United need to move beyond that.
This will come as a relief to United fans who saw the news and feared we were becoming a retirement home for attacking players. He’d fit in with Radamel Falcao, Edinson Cavani and Odion Ighalo.
